Carel du Toit Centre is where children with hearing impairment learn spoken language through the use of hearing technology, natural learning experiences and parental guidance. The CHAT Centre is the starting point for all families referred to the Carel du Toit Centre. Babies (0-3 years) who are deaf or hearing impaired learn to listen and talk through intensive early intervention, after they’ve been diagnosed and/or fitted with hearing technology. Parental guidance, practical intervention and support is of cardinal importance to ensure ongoing and sustainable development of a child despite his hearing loss.
