Established in 1974, Horizon House is a residential and sheltered-employment centre in Stellenbosch specialising in the holistic care of people with a primary intellectual disability. A holistic approach is followed to establish a safe, normalised environment in which they can live, work, and socialise.
Based on their intellectual abilities and interests, they join one of 10 work areas, offering therapeutic value and allow them to make a meaningful contribution. Everyone is accepted for their intrinsic worth and residents and day workers alike get the opportunity to develop their talents and receive training in life skills and in the work place.
